Remington 581/541

anyone shoot a remington 581/541 in a custom configuration? It be interested in seeing and knowing what class you use them for.. thanks in advance. Have a 580 that would like to build up as a back up for my Annie 54 Hunter.

I've got a 580 that I had a Hart varmint contour installed to it. I've not gotten around to stocking it yet.
I like the 580 series. I've shot them in all kinds of guises and enjoy them thoroughly.

Here's a 581-S that I had restocked and barreled with a turned down 54.18 barrel.

I think the 581/541 make a great rifle for silhouette. Especially for those that are new to silhouette (like me) and have a limited budget.

I have a 541X that I modified the prone stock on and had Voelker do some metal work on and it's a great shooter. I plan to use it in our club match next weekend but the stock is just a little to wide to be legal for a sanctioned match. I'd like to make it legal for standard class in sanctioned matches but I think I want to keep the stock that's on it like it is. So I'm curious Boyd L, where'd you get the stock that's on the 581 with the 40X barrel? It looks like exactly what I'm looking for and it's gorgeous to boot.

My girlfriend shoots a left handed 581 with some weight added in the forearem and the stock cut way short(she's only 4'11")to fit her. She started last year so this is just a starter gun. Up here in the northwest a lot of guys shoot the 541/81, they've done a lot of work to them though. Most have anschutz triggers that were installed and have either lilja or shilen barrel and bedded in a Steve Wooster stock. The main reason they shoot the 541/81 action is becuase of the super fast lock time, the actions have one of the fastest lock times of any of the rifles out there. Its a bitch to get the annie trigger to fit the remington action though. A bracket has to be machined out then welded to the reminton action.

What contour/length of barrel are those? (length and muzzle diameter)

Im thinking of trying to get something around 24" and a richards micro-fit monte carlo stock.
Keeping the stock trigger and just working that to 2lbs.
