Shoot tomorrow! Pe Ell......
Well, on the sil line tomorrow again, after a 200 mile morning drive, at lovely downtown Pe Ell, Washington....
And I get to wear my cool, new, blue, Marco Sanchez vest that Innocent got for me! I'll look good, regardless of score!
Since I've decided to devote the rest of my life to this sport, and since the nearest match is at least 130 miles away, I have to get a low-cost economical camper to sleep the night before at the gates of the ranges. I already have an old 89' Dodge 4X4 with a herking 11' Caveman camper on the back that we use during ski season (in my other life I'm a ski patroller)....but it gets 8 mpg with the camper on, and 8.5 with the camper off! Lol, can't live with that...... Anybody got a VW campervan for sale? Cheap?

Any self respecting ski patroller would just pitch a tent and rough it!

OO....now pitching a tent in the fine weather you all had in Seattle on Tuesday and Wednesday last week is ok, but some of the other weather like CBC this year...no thanks. BTW the vest arrived while I was in Seattle, already have a youngster in mind, thank you. Have fun in PeEll and enjoy the new vest and keep up looking for a VW, it'll work fine for what you want.

If you were from WY you would be tough enough to only use the tent when it was raining or real cold. On the other hand, roughing it for me is staying in a motel that has numbers in it's name.

Been there, done that..... wifie and I have toured 22 summers by motorcycle...300,000 miles....camping in a tent all the way.... Alaska, Nova Scotia, Louisiana. I want a Eurovan now! The bones are getting brittle! Lol.....
Victory at Pe Ell...... (at least over the self!).... Last month I shot a 18/14, and vowed to give up the sport forever; today I shot a 30 (got first Triple A!) and a 21, and have vowed to shoot silhouette as long as I can stand up! Thanks to the crew at Pe Ell, which is one of the most supportive, good-humored groups anywhere, and thanks again to Innocent. My new vest is the scream!
Now, I just gotta get that damned hunter rifle figured out! Lol.....

Congrats on the 1st AAA...and the vest even matches the stock!
And BTW my most favorite mentor shot from a wheel chair until he died, fantastic shooter, even better spotter and a great coach, and to top it off we had a mutal understanding, he had been a gunner in PBY's during WWII and my father was a pilot so there were often discussions of various events in the South Pacific, so don't ever let anything stop you from smelling that burning powder and the opportunity to say " I could have done better!"

Mel, good shooting with you again! I too need to figure out my Hunter Rifle; but since Standard rifle is getting a upgrade I'm planning to get lots of Hunter Time, luckily it stated working on the last lane! Thanks for spotting too!
Take a look at the Air Rifle section- it has info on Air Silhouette- the Tacoma Rifle and Revolver Air MS.
I just sold my 86 VW Syncro Vanagon, it was good for camping, been all over with it; but the winds around your hame make it tougher for old school VW's, the Euro Vans are hard to find, the South Puget Sound or CA Bay area are pretty big VW areas, keep looking.
See you in a few weeks, or when you get back from MC Ride.

Rick.... it was great shooting with you, and congratulations on your high score and your ten-in-a-row pin! And thanks for understanding when I asked that my wife spot for me (a well-thought out, sneaky plan of mine to entice her into shooting silhouette herself! "Setting the hook," you see.....! I know where there's a super good Remington 541 (540?) that would fit well in her slender hands....). I wish I had known about your Vanagon.... because of our motorcycle experience, we're really used to secondary, slow-driving roads...and since I'm retired I'm never in a hurry! Vanagons suit my budget more than Eurovans for sure! Do you know if there are any models of the Vanagons to stay away from?RickNW wrote:Mel, good shooting with you again! Again, thanks for your company on a great day....... Gary Malmberg from the Pe Ell bunch: if you're listening in, thanks for going out of your way to make both my wife and I comfortable and at ease! You're a great ambassador for the sport!

Great shooting and outfit, Mel. You're lucky, when I go from an 18 to a 30 I get the stinkeye. Cool trophy too, at our club I'm happy with a hotdog.

Yeah, Dee..... most guys at Pe Ell just accept them, and then hand them back to Steve Wooster so they can be presented again..... I'm gonna keep this one awhile, just to remember my short "retirement!" It's also, I believe, my one and only Triple A trophy....
