Problem with new CZ452

Hello all.

After much research, and advice from several on these boards(Thank you all for the help), I finally picked up my first rifle 2 weeks ago. Its a CZ452 Varmint w/thumbhole stock. I got the rifle all set up and headed to the range yesterday. I spent a while figuring out the scope and getting it sighted in, then proceeded to shoot a fer courses of silhouettes. It shoots perty darn nice for the most part, however, when ejecting/re-cocking there seem to be an issue. There is quite a bit of slop/wiggle in the bolt. So much so that when the bolt is pulled back it ofter gets "canted" and will not slide forward. I have to wiggle it quite a bit to get it started moving forward again. I tried lubing the bolt, but I didn't seem to help. Is this normal for these guns? has anyone else experienced this? any advice on what to do?

I would say no I own 3 of these a varmint an american and a scout. That is the first thing I do is show them how smooth the bolt is. I would check with czs service and see what they think or take to a local smith and see if it something simple.

It almost sounds like the bolt is getting released. That can happen if you're holding the trigger down while working the bolt (unlikely unless you're left handed), or if the trigger is gummed up and sticking in the full back/bolt release position. You might try cleaning and lubricating the trigger and bolt - just spray them out with Brakleen and lubricate lightly with Remoil. Just keep the Brakleen off the stock!
