CZ 452: American or Silhouette ?

I want to get a CZ452, but do not know the pros and cons of the American vs. the Silhouette. I know the American is heavier and I would prefer the wood, but does it pass the weight requirement with the scope? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I have the CZ Silhouette model. Shoots great plus It comes with a rubber but pad. Other than that they are about the same. Just get the JnP spring for which ever one you decide on as it provides for a faster locktime.

Its really just a matter of what stock you prefer, everything else is pretty much the same if not identical.

Making weight is a cinch for the American or the Silhouette, but the Varmint does come close.

if i am not mistaken, the american has 2 action screws and no barrel lug, i believe the silhouette is of a more European design, like the lux and varmint, a barrel lug and a single action screw between the magazine and trigger guard,. the american is shiny blued the silo is matte. both need a touch of trigger work. both will take you far for a limited expense, both are well worth hanging onto if you ever decide to up grade, i would go American, either stock will do, both can be changed for 100 bucks and some elbow grease, the american should be more desireable in the secondary market.

thanks for the info guys. Ive decided to get the American. Ill bed it and look for a trigger, as Ive been reading the forum and it sounds like they , can use one. ? Do I replace the trigger, or get it worked on. Thanks again

Timney triggers are pretty nice.

Timney triggers are nice and there are several less expensive spring kits and or adjustable triggers on the market now that work real well also. I put a Timney in mine, but got the $15 spring kit for my friends and was surprised how it felt just as good as my Timney.

I believe on Chicken George's site (sponser on SC) he has instructions on installing the Timney into a CZ and can get you one as well.
