My First Silhouette match

Post by 22's forever »

Well, Now I have reall gone and done it !! Shot my 1st match today in Harrisburg. What a blast I had shooting and oh I actually hit some steel as well !! :D I really have done it !! Outdid what my expectations were and soo it's hook line and sinker as they say. My shooting was to say the least HORRIBLE...but it was shooting. The matches there are 60 rounds so I shot both classes with my Kimber HS. Now don't laugh at my scores...I really shouldn't even post them...what the heck...21/22 w/ hunter ...21/18 standard. All shot with same gun. I was pretty excited at the very first "ping" of a target flying off the stand from my rifle !!! Will most certainly be going back !!! Can't wait !! Thanx again HHNA for a great day and good folks to shoot with !! Many kudo's from a rookie silhouette shooter...
...til next time. Shoot straight !!

Now I have to practice. :-bd

Well done. As long as you're in Pa. you might as well dive in the deep end at Ridgway Aug 7. See ya there?

Welcome to the game. No need to be ashamed of your scores right now. If you stay with it long enough you will have plenty of time to be ashamed later on years from now lol. =)) =))

Bob259, I'm offering my superior coaching skills for a limited time, don't forget I'll be gone soon and all my knowledge will pass with me. You can't deny that my scores have improved by almost 8 points this year. I owe it all to a method that I've been working on that requires a mental commitment to the point of impact.

ppkny- I picked up an average of 8 points a match this year as well. Come to find out all I needed to get better scores was 10 shot magazines.

Dee, we have enough problems keeping him on the straight and narrow...please don't encourage or give him any other 'new' ideas. We'll have to have Innocent Mary stand behind him to keep eye on him as it is. ;)

Congrats on your great scores. Don't be surprised if your next few scores aren't as good as your first match. It happens a lot. Most people don't realize how hard those little targets are to hit the first match. When they decide to "get more serious" about it, they realize it's a hard game and think about it too much. :)
