Master class shooters... I need your help.
Masters,
I am taking Statistics this semester (no, I am not the oldest person in class, but damn close), and I am doing a project that I really need your participation in. I would like to find the mean (avg) age of Master class silhouette competitors in the United States. This is across all guns (hunter/standard in HP and SB). If you are a Master in any category I need your help. I would love to have 30+ people's ages but I can make due with 25 people in my sample. If you do not want to publicly post your age I understand and you can just send me a PM. All individual information will remain private.
If you have acquaintances with any Master class shooters that maybe do not post here I would GREATLY appreciate if you would be so kind as to provide me with their age. In that case I do not need their personal info, just their age.
I am also going to post this in the High Power forum so that I can hit up both groups. Again though, if you are a Master class competitor in ANY rifle/pistol category, please provide me with your age.
THANK YOU!

Trent, I am not a Master class shooter. I have been shooting this sport for quite a few years. I have really enjoyed observing and trying to analyze what makes the top shooters shoot the way they shoot. Behavior patterns, training methods, sleep patterns, occupations, age, diet, and so on.
The factor that is going to skew with your statisitics is the fact that once a person makes Master class that person usually always stays a Master class shooter in NRA competition. More experienced shooters correct me if wrong. I see 80+ year old shooters in my area that made Master class in their younger years but now have to shoot cheap ammo because of being on a fixed retirement income and just do not have the eye sight and physical skills to shoot top scores as they did when they were younger. One of these Super Seniors told me years ago "I know what to do and how to do it; shoot Master scores that is but I just do not have the body to do it now." This fellow went decades shooting one Master class score after another all over the country. He has the scorebooks to prove it. It was very sad to see him shopping for Eley Sport. Some of these Super Seniors now shoot B class scores. It is an honor to shoot a Match with these Super Seniors that love this sport, stay determined to participate in matchs and continue to shoot the best they can.
Trent you might want to instead use the statisitics for the age of the people who average Master class scores over say the past 2 or 3 calender years. That may give you really what you are looking for.
Motl and Tureau are two of the oldest people I know that usually turn in a Master class score every time.

Tureau is 60 or 61...don't remember Motl's age but he is close to the same age. Elisabeth Steiger is 17 and a master and we are in tax season or the Commander Kitty would respond with Mallory ( Mini Kitty) making master at age 11.
In keeping with Bobby's theme, I didn;t make master until I could afford the scope and vest....shot into AAA with iron sights years ago. But rarely shoot master score anymore, primarily due to body not doing what I want it to do...something about age and old injuries.

Bobby, I'm not really looking for anything other than the current avg age. There are a lot of other statistics I could go for, but I want to keep this simple. I thought of asking what age folks were when they made it into Master class but that makes it a little tougher to get a big enough sample. The more simple this is, the better.

As Innocent said, Mini Kitty made Master in both guns at 11, is now 12....high score last season was a 37/40..
And tax season is winding down, will be over on Monday...we are due to crash Tuesday and are looking forward to a relaxing trip to the Conard Cup later this month.

I added MiniKitty to the list. She will be considered an "outlier" because of her extreme age. She still boggles my mind every time I think about it.

You can add my last student, Kolby Rasmussen to the list. Kolby made master in both guns by 16, he didn't start shooting silhouette until he was 14. Kolby is no longer shooting silhouette due to personal reasons, but he will be 18 this summer....Mini Kitty has an extreme attitude to go with her extreme young age. lol
