1712 Mag follower replacements?

Post by Dee »

Anyone know where I can order a 1712 mag follower? I dropped a mag and the damn follower cracked and now it is binding on the spring and keeps it from allowing the 5th round to be inserted. Need to get some more Savage mags but I would like to get this Annie mag working again.

Any info appreciated.

Another option Dee is to get some of the ones from Brownells, they have a metal follower.

The Savage magazines from Brownells, part number 533-400-355 work great. Brownell lists them for around $13.99 plus shipping. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=7944 ... P_MAGAZINE

To make them work on some of the magazine wells, you just have to shave (use a drimmel tool or file) a little off the back, just compare it with your factory magazine and check the fit you will see where to file. Check first because on some Anschutz rifles they will fit with no modification.

Krazy glue on a 1712, Blasphemy! :-? Actually I didn't eve think about that and the broken piece is already in the trash. It broke on the thin side edge so it probably wouldn't have held up for long.

I msg Evelio and he says he will have some Savage mags at the Texas match and I will get a couple then. Still need to get with Neil about a replacement for this one yet.

Krazy glue is proven to shrink groups by half when used on any part of a rifle! :D
