New CZ 527 or Browning T Bolt?

There aren't many new LH rifles out there that I can see for Hunter class. I just feel more comfortable with a LH bolt and safer too, even though I might be okay with a RH. I am not a star by any means, and my 4 year old Marlin 39a is okay. Having to spend $700.00 for a new rifle would be an over kill for me. This year, I have the time to work on the sport for more improvement. The magazines are pretty flush with the stock where I rest. Am I missing anytrhing?

It was pointed out to me that the 527 is a centerfire. Have to see the CZ 452 for comparison, then.

You can't go wrong with a CZ lefty. Later on you could consider a New Ultralight Arms, by Mel Forbes, http://www.newultralight.com/ or Anschutz 1416L in a lefty http://jga.anschuetz-sport.com/index.ph ... w=variante. Not a lot of choices for lefties.

Thank you, I plan to buy the CZ 452 American, in left hand and did write CZ to see if they will be introducing the 455 in left hand this year. If anyone has input on best practice ammo to try and also match ammo, I would like to hear. I plan to try several, but would like input as to what has worked for others as a starting point. I have a case of CCI Blazer that was the best for my Marlin 39a as did not like any standard, only HV. The CCI Blazer also works best in my .22 S&W pistol out to 60m for Silhouette.

Also, would like recomendation on barrel cleaning the 452 American. Cleaning my 39a was after about 1000 rounds with Hoppes 9 and brass wire brushing. It has not effected the accuracy of the rifle after 3 years or 200 rds a week 8 months out of the year I know there are mixed feelings on cleaning, but looking for what the well experienced do. Perhaps the type ammo, waxed or alternative lubricant, may determine how often or not?

Thank you for those that have a wealth of experience to help me along the way. Couple AAA fellows in our club have been helpful. It is sad there are only a couple bolt models of LH off the shelf rifles to choose from, but understand.

Wow... opening up that can of worms on cleaning huh...

As you know there are 100's of opinions on this. I'll give you mine.. 1) I never use a brass or bonze brush on any of my .22's. A pull through with a soaked patch then dry patches and 'maybe' a nylon brush once a year when they are getting put away for the winter. 2) I use Eezox http://www.eezox.com/gun-care.html or Bore Tech rimfire solvent http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/de ... ber=799469. Hoppes 9 is also good, but I have since switched to these others

If you plan to buy a CZ and can try the 452 and the Silhouette model for fit best to do so. They saddle completely different and one might be more comfoartable for you. There's pro's and con's about the way each is put together but my CZ452 Silhouette with the fiber stock is a good shooter.

Having a right handed T bolt and a 452...I'll take the 452 over the Browning for shooting. FWIW that is my opinion.

The CZ452 is a great rifle, and hopefully will fit your budget.
It might want a replacement adjustable trigger sear for a crisp, consistent letoff, though,
then there's the scope, and mounts, and a bit of bling, and maybe a shooting vest as well.

Then there's the ammo it's going to like best, like Sk or Wolf or Eley.

and,
You might want to start saving for a beautiful custom little Cooper for when the bug really bites !
They offer a left hand action in most models.

One of our club members let me try his custom made with CZ style stock this past Monday night. Of coarse his scope mount was not to my fit, but was able to get the feeling of the stock and hold. I liked the beefy flat bottom. It was at closing when I took five shots and had to be on my way. This coming Monday, I will have more time. Another one of our members, who is in charge of our league, was not there this past Monday eve and might have a CZ in his collection. Still shopping for under $800.00
