Pretty happy with my CZ Silhouette..

So I said that I would be picking up a CZ and Ive taken it out a few times now & shot some pretty nice groups. They really are a nice feeling rifle for 400.00 bucks. The timny trigger went in pretty easy, opening up the barrel channel just after the lug was a pice of cake, I wouldn't go as far as to say its a floppy stock, yes it will flex abit when you apply pressure but who holds their rifle way out on the forearm in this game anyway. The drop in the heal is quite nice. So I Thank the folks out here that gave me some sound advice about which model and ammo.
At the range I was testing some ammo mostly Wolf mt and SK standard plus and did some different toque adjustment to the stock and... well I think need to get a toque drive any suggestions? I didn't realize how much that can have an effect on accuracy. Bench shooting was success Wolf MT is the winner with SK right behind and ill have to try eley target again. Although SK did alittle better at 50 than wolf and wolf did better at 100 but I can buy Wolf locally so I went with the Wolf.
So I moved on to some offhand and all I can say is Im glad that I bought the 6.5-20... Cuz Wow I am out of shape. I need to hit the airrifles hard. Anyway I took a few pictures and hope to attend the match north of seattle on the 20th of feb. or the 13th in tacoma I cant wait. Oh and by the way how much time do you regularly have before a match to do sight in type of stuff? I've only shot at 50 and 100 yards so far and would like to check the come ups.

If you're talking about the match north of Seattle, I assume you're talking about our Seattle Rifle & Pistol Association match in Machias. We start sight-in at 9:30 and usually go until 10:00 or so, with more time given if anyone needs it. Also feel free to ask for help from any of us. I second what Jason has to say. We shoot Cowboy on Saturday at the same time and you could show up and look at the range so you would feel more comfortable on Sunday.

Be careful showing up to the cowboy lever action matches. They are very fun and the whole setup to shoot that match costs less than just the scope on your rifle above. You just might get hooked on that, too.

nice what kind of rings did you use

BKLs.. Their light, inexpensive (34.00 shipped) and tall. I think they align themselves with the bore pretty good too. Im not that far out from center on my windage adjustments on this rifle or any other rifle that uses them. I was going to use some burris sig. high rings with +20 inserts and my windage adjustments were maxed out.

You may also want to play around with removing the front lug all together...



Place a shim between the barrel and stock in the area above and simply set the lug aside. May eliminate the torque problems you mentioned, can always put it back in of you don't like the results. Floats the barrel as well.

GeoNLR, what do you use to shim under the barrel? I assume the lug yall are referring to is the one half way down the barrel. I have the exact model, I am happy with it, but that lug half way down the barrel confused me, Silly Czecs. I sanded out the barrel channel to free float the barrel from the lug down, and left it in place. BUT, I wouldnt mind getting that lug out though, to reduce torque effects like you say. Thanks.
