CZ 452 Scout legal in Hunter class?

Post by oldrifleman »

I just bought a CZ 452 scout for my 8 yr old daughter. I was wondering if it was legal? I know most places will let you shoot what you brought, but Just wondering. I have a 54-18 that I may swap for a 1712, and wanted to know if she would be able shoot with me. I checked the search and did not find anything, but then I am not the best at these things!

Most ranges in western Washington will care little what an 8 year old will be shooting. Just happy to have both you and her. By the look of the scout online it appears that it should make the hunter class requirements with no problem.

Thanks Dave. It has been many many years since I actually shot this game, but am looking for something she can shoot with me to keep her interested (paper can be boring).

Yep. It's entirely legal. My just-turned-10 daughter shoots a pink 452 Scout. Let us know where/when you'll be shooting and we'll make sure to give your daugher a warm welcome. If you come to the Seattle Rifle & Pistol Associaton match on 1/15, I'll make sure she gets recognized at the match and gets a pin if you want. :)

Thanks Jason! I need to spend a couple of months at the kenmore range with her before I let her on a line. I will however keep your offer in mind for later this year, she would love it. By the way I saw a pink one, but my daughter shuttered at the thought of a pink rifle (surprised me!).
