Scope rings.
No, not those kind...but these. The ones I made to let you use an old style.. PROPER DIAMETER.. Leupold sunshade on a newer post 2004 40mm Leupold scope. Leupold went to a different thread size in 04 and for a reason known only to them REDUCED the diameter of the sunshade on all 40mm models made thereafter. Most true Leupold fans do not much care for the looks of the smaller diameter sunshade. Personally, I think they look like crap. It was three years ago at this time I was getting the final sizes dialed in on my adapter ring before I ran off 110 of them on one of our NC lathes at the plant.
They are made from 2024 aluminum and left natural in color. I sold a bunch of them cheap here on SC and on Rimfire Central but still have about twenty left. I now just want to give them away to anyone here at SC that would use it. Old style sunshades are still available from Leupold vendors and I saw that lesterf has some listed cheap in the market place here on SC. Someone should jump on that deal.
Now here is the deal. I would only like to give them away, one per "customer", maybe two, if you would really use it. You can contact me with a mailing address by PM or email me at [email protected]
My wife and I will be hunting the next few days and will return Tuesday night. I will deal with sending any out shortly after.

Re: Scope rings.
I have some for my scopes and love them... Now if I could just get McAlice to make some of those other fine things he has laying around for me too I'd be a happy camper and I would truly know there is a Santa Claus.
I may even have to order a few more of these for my last two scopes.

Re: Scope rings.
Bob,
this is a total bummer, I just clicked on to this website and seen these notice that they are all gone. I am kind of new to the game and wondered if there was something like this available. Such an awesome item. Oh well I have been a minute late and a dollar short before. My hats off to you for your generosity to the folks that did get some of these.
Thanks

Re: Scope rings.
Sorry to to folks that missed out on the give away. Many of you commented on what a slick item this would be to have. Hopefully, some other talented, good looking machinist type will pick up where I left off and put some of these out for sale. Better yet, we should all petition Leupold to do the right thing and produce a sunshade that is worthy of their great name. The people involved in the decision to produce such a piece of crap sunshade should all be fired.
Mr. Beckley, you are insinuating that said material was ..."borrowed" and labor was at tax payers expense? How dare you sir slander my name here amongst friends. I have contacted the esteemed Mr. Ed Pabst of Brush, CO. to discuss proceedings for a probable slander lawsuit against you sir. We will take you for all you are worth. I bought that material myself at a local supplier of aluminum. All labor , CAD time, NC programming and tooling was done by me....on the clock, naturally.
All of the rings were mailed out today.
This is the thread that got it all started.

Let me tell ya something pal, at one time I had a wife that wouldn't cook and a dog that wouldn't hunt, some poor guy stole the wife, so pretty much all I got is the dog left, so that what you are looking at as far as my assets, I doubt very serious that a class act like Ed would help you out anyway.

Could very well be, I hear he has a closet affliction for them and really wants one, but is scared of what others would think with all this 7mm propaganda stuff he has been preaching.Jim Beckley wrote:Bob, I think the dirty dog is after my 6.5's!

Bob, I think he wants my 6.5's. He's drooling over the sugar scoop, but I think Sara would nix the dog!

Beckley, I will take your guns, but only for the actions, stocks and glass. The barrels will be replaced.
