1710D vs. 1712 MS / 1712FWT

Here's a dumb question: do the models 1710D and 1712 Silhouette / 1712FWT have the same 54 action? Does 1710D only come in a single-stage trigger since "D" stands for single-stage? Does 54.18 have a different 54 action? Anschutz certainly knows how to confuse us here in the States, and make a killing during the process:~( Unfortunately, some of us are suckers for anything German....

All the 17XX's have the same 54 action. The 54.18 has a 54 'Match' action which is different, as it uses the match trigger assembly which is not interchangable with the 17XX actions and is a little heavier as the 17XX actions are more of a hunting action Vs a Match rifles action. I'm sure some one here with more details on the differences of the two can chime in.

Yes Bob is right, the 1700 series is similar to the 54.18 but different. 54.18 uses a different trigger assembly, different firepin and spring, and a different safety.
Both are very good .22 actions

thanks guys for the into...guess I'll pick up a 17xx to compliment my Daystate MCT, which can almost shoot as accurately at any 22lr on the market within 100 yards. Yeah, it costs over $2k...just another expensive toy...the best part is I can shoot this PCP almost anywhere I want, and hundreds of varments must cursing be it in their graves...
