What exactly is the "right" Leupold? And why is the front sight so far back on this one? The last 14" barrelled
Exemplar I saw had the front sight in the normal position.

:-? DO YOU know NORMAL WHEN YOU SEE IT ? 4 out of the 5 14 inch EXEMPLAR XIV i have had, a few were BRAND NEW IN THE BOX i orderd as a ANSCHUTZ DEALER, the front sight is in the spot that you see in the picture. and there is NO OTHER HOLES IN MY BARRELs.if you BUY the gun and want the front sight all the way to the end add $20.00 for the DRILL AND TAP.Leupold trade i am thinking a 6.5-20 as part trade. what have you???? thanks john

If I remember correctly, The IHMSA rule specified a sight radius as opposed to barrel length. The sight location on this model was designed to meet that rule, and get the optimum barrellength for velocity\accuracy.

22eley, do you have the original box and papers with this?

Oh how I wish these were legal for NRA hunter pistol matches. I like my Contenders and all, but compared to an Anschutz bolt gun those things are tomato stakes. 8)
