Fortner Suggestions
I just bought an 1827 Fortner that I'm thinking of building into a hunter rifle (on the way, due in next week). I know several guys have or had them, and I'm looking for suggestions.
Of paricular concern is how are you mounting scopes? The 1827 doesn't have a dovetail ahead of the ejection port, at least per the pictures I've seen and I'm wondering what the best way to put an optic on this would be. I'd like to be able to test group sizes with the factory barrel.
Anyone have suggestions or advice?
Thanks, Tom

Re: Fortner Suggestions
When Neal's built my friends and mine for us they had milled a piece of aluminium to make a dove tail for it and it worked fine. I may still have a small piece that they replaced for me as it was pitted or didn't take to annodizing very well. I'll look around for it, at least that way you'd have a sample.thskeer wrote:I just bought an 1827 Fortner that I'm thinking of building into a hunter rifle (on the way, due in next week). Here's a picture, but it's not close enough to really see or get an idea. There is also drill and tapping as an option

That would be COOL. What did you do to get the 5018 trigger up to 2lbs?
