Turn up the bling

Post by jneihouse »

The black bolt knob on the 54:18 was looking kind of bland after the red knob on the 1710. So in the interest of turning up the bling....TA DA new "bigger" red bolt knob.

You must be feeling better!

Am feeling a little better, still pretty tired.....But, when I saw that red bolt knob come out of that Champions Choice box along with the other stuff I ordered I perked up considerably.......

Now I think I'm going to go home his evening and powder coat the rings red.

You mean like this??? Looks perfectly normal to me. Life's too short to shoot ugly guns and spend time looking for them on the rack......

I noticed in another thread you've powder coated your rings, how much thickness did the powder coating add to the surface? I just sent out my base, mounts, trigger guard, and trigger shoe to get anodized blue to match my two tone colored stock. I decided to go with anodizing instead of powder coating only because I'm using Marv Pearson's base and mounts. These items have a precise dovetails that really doesn't allow for any buildup of material when they slide on to each other, with the anodizing precess this should leave the components lean enough to work fine.

Added less than 2mls of powdercoating. I didn't powdercoat the inside surface of the rings or the dovetail. Mask those areas with hi-temp fiberglas tape, that way you won't have any problems with fit.

Kitty,

You are the official "Pimp Daddy" and I may be able to get you on the Outdoor Channel for "Pimp My Rifle"!

If you cannot find that rifle, you are liable to cross in Winnie!

Hope you haven't breathed in too much of the powder coating stuff!

I'm just now getting a handle on pillar bedding and suddenly it's all about Technicolor powder coat! Can't wait to see how this wrinkle plays out!

Okay, while you two compare pink flamingos I'm gonna practice some more... Getting out blinged is one thing, but out shot is another...
