Blemished Stock 1712 Silhouette
A friend of mine called me the other day and told me that he was at a gun shop that had a blemished stock Anshutz on consignment for sale. He didn't know what model it was, so he sent me pictures from his phone. I quickly forwarded the pictures to Jason (jjp) to get his opinion. Which was if you don't want it I do. I bought it sight unseen except for the cell pictures. The Styrofoam box, cardboard box, and manual all have a sticker on them stating " Blemished Stock". Have you ever heard of an Anschutz with a blemished stock? I got it home cleaned it up and here are pictures of it with my EFR mounted on it. (Jason mounted the scope and took the pictures). Its a NIB 1712 Silhouette, with a very nice looking stock that has some knots in it. Please let me know what you think. Oh by the way I got it for $960 plus tax. I feel like I found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

What a dastardly thing to do to a new shooter.... tell ya what I'm gonna do for you....
Actually, a barrelled action from Champions is about $100 MORE than what you paid for it with a stock, bottom metal, and action screws. If the stock is made from an orange crate you're still a long way ahead. And, of course, you have a new 1712.

I told him he better buy it or I was going to. It looks very nice. I really can't see why they call it blemished. Maybe unique, but not blemished.

What a great score! Amazing discount for a couple of knots, so Christmas came early. You might push your luck and dump some of yous savings into the lottery, just not Wall Street - that's gambling.

Now if I can get old Dad to shoot some matches. Maybe I can get him to ride to Chattanooga with me.
