F/S Custom Theoben Evolution Air Rifle .177

I optimized this Evolution for silhouette. I had the custom barrel weight (its just a weight, not a moderator) done by Tim at Custom Brakz (I don't think Custom Brakz is still in business). The balance of the gun is fantastic and with the extra length this break-barrel is very easy to cock. I also cut some wood dowels to add a bit to the length of pull, and installed some threaded inserts into the buttstock for easier LOP adjustments.

The Theoben stocks have a real skinny grip area so I built up a custom palm swell using epoxy putty, epoxy paste, and Bondo. With the funky color of the palm swell I decided to prime and paint the whole thing with a metal fleck blue automotive paint from Duplicolor. Several clear coats went on top for extra protection.

This gun is a joy to shoot and is very accurate - I shot a personal best silhouette score of 36/40 with it. It is not a "spring gun" since it uses the Theoben gas ram. Recoil is linear with no spring torque, no spring twang, and no need for a tune - ever! It shoots right around 12fpe.
