Re: FS: ANSCHUTZ 1712 FWT w/McMILLAN STOCK
Odie shot only two matchs with this rifle in 2009. The rest of the 3000 rounds was practice and ammo testing. It is in the Green/Tan Mcmillan Stock. The rifle shot the cheaper Wolf really well. I saw it at the last Match I held in September 2009 in Jackson, MS. and it was in new condition. Odie shot very well (AA scores right off the bat if I remember correctly) with this rifle for someone just starting in Silhouette. It will make someone a very good rifle.

Yes, this rifle is still available. I "bumped" up this message, because it was at bottom of page. Reckon I should've stated that. Anyway, sent you a pm.

Re: FS: ANSCHUTZ 1712 FWT w/McMILLAN STOCK
I have never observed a 1700 series of any kind, 1710 or 1712 with anything but a wing safety. Match 54 Heavy barrel rifles manufactured years ago had wing safeties. Then after the Match 54 production series ended I think 1400's had wing safeties also but then they changed the true 54 series to 5018 triggers with the side safety starting on the 1600's. Then all the 1800, 1900 and 2000 series had side safeties with the 5018 trigger. From what I have read on this forum and others it is very time consuming and expensive to put a 5018 or 5022 trigger on a 1712 but it has been done.
Has anything changed with the 1712 series triggers and safeties? Is there another safety out there?

I think he's referring to the very recent change of the 1712s coming with a different style of safety. As this one was purchased approximately a year ago, I believe that it was most likely one of the models with the wing safety. I'll let the owner post up that detail, though.

Yes, I was referring to the newest version with the sliding safety on the right side. It is my understanding now that it could not be a new one, as McMillan has not even began producing the stock with the new inlet. It has to be the old wing safety.
