OD of OL for Weaver scopes.

Hi everyone

Does anyone know or can anyone who has one measure the OD of the OL of the following Weaver scopes:

1) Classic V 4-16 x 42 AO;
2) Classic V 6-24 x 42 AO;
3) Grand Slam 6-20 x 40 AO;
4) Buckmaster 4-16 x 42 SF.

I have e-mailed Weaver from their web site 4 days ago but have not recieved a reply. I am on a budget & am considering using any of these as a small bore silhouette scope but need to know thw OL OD to see if I can mount them low enough as I do not want to have higher rings than i already have.
At the moment I am using a borrowed low end scope.

What rifle and mounts do you have?

I have a V16 and a Grandslam 6-20. I don't like the 1/8 min adjustments in the grandslam. The target dots are very small. I'm sending my V16 off to get a bigger dot. I'm going to have it set up on an CZ for new shooters to try out.

I haven't had a single issue with the weavers. Not as clear as my Leupolds, but are the Leupolds +100% of the price better? They are a good bargain. Best lower/mid range scopes I've used.

JJP I have a Savage Mk 2 FV .22 lr with Weaver bases & Millet Angle Loc adjustable steel rings in medium height - if possible at all I do not want to go to higher rings.

At the moment the scope I have borrowed is a 2-7 x 32 AO Nikko Stirling Gold Crown, which has a mil dot style reticle & duplex type crosshairs which are very thick. Although it is cheap & has lousy cross hairs, so far (3 months) the settings have been consistently repeatable in silhouette, 3 position & field rifle! With 7x as the maximum magnification it has not been too bad, but I think that 12 - 14/16x would really help, especially with the turkeys. After reading countless opinions on this & other forums I am leaning towards the Weavers as being the most suitable & having the best value.

Strangely enough over here in Australia Tasco target scopes are used by most of the guys in silhouette (as long as they are made in Japan apparently). I am not prepared to buy 3 to get 1 good one though & if I buy directly from the US a Weaver will cost the same (including shipping) as buying a Tasco locally! Strange that Tasco gets such bad reviews on most US forums though, but it just may be that you have a far larger variety of scopes to choose from at good prices (better than here anyway.)

I have the Weaver Grand Slam 6x-20x and it is right at 2 inches or 51mm.
