Franken-Hunter rule question

I have a 54.18 NOT the repeater. Can I rebarrel it into a Franken Hunter with a tapered barrel and a Pharr type stock? The rule states all rifles except single shots, must be loaded from the magazine.... Not sure how this would be looked at.. any thoughts?

I have Remington 40x smallbore that I have used as hunter guns at state and National matches. As long as the action was a single shot to begin with it can be rebarreled with a tapered barrel and used as a hunter rifle.

Just watch the weight limit carefully, although a composite stock will help that a great deal.

My rifle is a Match 54 action (single shot) with a 1712 barrel and a Pharr stock. I use a loading block to hold my ammo. I may add a 5 shot block directly on the rifle so I don't have to reach so far after each shot. The biggest draw back is if you drop a bullet while loading.

what is a franken-hunter? Any pix. Just started back shooting after 12 years, so I'm a little behind. O.K. Benny a whole lot behind. Thanks for the info.

One more time folks, some of my best scores were posted with a factory stock Remington 504, and those rifles are definitely not among the all time best! It was simple, though: I had practiced hard with that rifle all summer! I haven't shot anything as consistently well since then simply because I haven't worked that hard with anything else! You don't need a custom Anschutz to do well, just a decent rifle, a case of ammunition and practice!

If the rules changed tomorrow I'd shrug, adapt, and go practice. Cuss and fuss about the money sunk in a composite stock for sure, but I'd still enjoy the matches! And Evelio would build a lucrative business blue printing factory rifles!
