2010 Louisiana State Smallbore Championships

Post by mrmongo »

The 2010 Louisiana State Smallbore Championships will be held in Gonzales, LA on Saturday, April 24, 2010. It will be a one day match. It will consist of a 60 round Standard Gun Match in the AM and a 60 round Hunter Gun Match in the PM. The range will be open Friday April 23 in the PM for practice. We will be using resettable targets for the Match. We know this will probably be in conflict with the CBC. For those not attending the CBC, we will gladly have you at our match. Match fees have yet to be determined, but will not be more than $100 total. There are a minimum of 5 hotels within a half mile of the range. As soon as all details are finalized we will have a small match program available.

This is going to be a great Match in a area with wonderful food. We have made the three hour drive many times over the years to shoot the monthly matchs at the Gonzales range. The Match is in a unique setting at the East Ascension Parish Sheriff's Department Range. The place is kept spotless and it always impressed me how a coat of colorful fresh paint is usually on parts of the structure that I would never even think of painting. We always take the backroads through the scenic areas around French Settlement and Port Vincent. This is also the home range of the well-known competitor, cook and carpenter(I think that is in the correct order of importance) Jerry Tureau.

There is just one problem with this Match. It is the same weekend as my son's last State High School Tennis Finals and we will not be able to attend this year.

If you have the time try to make this Match. You will really enjoy it.

Michael Buffer enters the room and says:

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Children of all ages,

In this corner, standing 5' 11" and weighing in at a slim 275lbs, Eric, The Itchy Coon, Harper."

Thank You  , Thank You  , Thank you  .
So nice for the recognition.
It is with great happiness that I announce the Louisiana State Championship will be held in 19 days. Even greater news, entrance fees have been lowered to 50 American Dollars. That's 25 for the first gun, 15 for the second and 10 for LSA dues if you are not a member. We will honor other state shooting associations if you can provide a current ID card.

The shoot is April 24, 2010. It is being held at the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Range in Gonzales, LA. Registration forms can be found at http://www.louisianashooting.com. Lunch will be provided. It will be a Jambayla cooked by Chef JT and Associates. The range will be open for practice Friday after 3:30 PM.

Entrance is limited to 40 persons per gun. Get your entry in soon.

You may reach me by email at [email protected]
or by phone at 504-427-6974.

Now, go forth and spread the word to all.
