Weaver T-series scopes?

I am thinking of getting a weaver T-series 24X or 36X scope for SB. Does this scope focus down to 40 meters well or is it more for long range shooting? The co. catalog does not say.

Here Kitty, Kitty! He loves 'em and I think uses one in air rifle. His knock on the new ones is the 1/8 MOA clicks.

why, is there not enough adjustment or something with 1/8 as apposed to 1/4?

The T24, both 1/4 and 1/8 min clicks will focus down to the air rifle chickens...My knock on the 1/8 min clicks is that you often have to go more than one revolution to go from chickens to rams in smallbore and highpower...Just my personal preference...the less I have to keep up with the better...1/8 min clicks work fine for air gun silhouette.

My infatuation with Weavers come from them twice fixing/replacing one of my T24's for only the 7 dollar shipping charge when the problem was not related to scope malfunction, rather once a fall and once destruction at the hands of UPS. Both times the scopes were sent to Weaver with a letter from me of full disclosure of the incident and nary a suggestion from me that they should be warranted, just please fix the scope. Both times they were prompt in returning the fixed scope to me and did not bill me for the repair, just covered it under warranty. I'm sure others have had similiar experiences with their scope of preference. My experience has made me a real loyal Weaver user. My experience is all I can bank on.

Incidently, I use T24's on my air gun, smallbore, and highpower guns so that I have the same sight picture on all my guns....eliminate the variables, that sort of thing.

good point. i'll give them a try and see how I like it. I have a weaver on my HP gun but wanted something new for my SB gun. The burris 6X is way to under powered that i've been using.

If you've already started down the Weaver path, it's probably good to stay with them. I'm a Leupold loyalist for the same reasons - they've fixed things for me that weren't their fault, even after I took full responsibility for the damage. Sightron has the same reputation so any of the three are highly recommended.

I had a leuppy that I bought 2nd hand. it was all fogged up and out of focus. sent to them and they fixed it free. can't argue with that. But i cant afford them new, not when I'm still setting up 3-4 guns.

one other question...is 36X to much scope for SB?

My two cents are, 36X is a lot of magnification to hold, However i shoot with a 36X on my Anny 54.18 and a 30X on my 1712. At times I find 36X to much to hold and plan on going down to 30X (fx3). I shoot 24X on High Power. All scopes with a 3/8 dot. Also be concerned with smaller field of view with 36X. Shooting wrong target can be a bitch

36X can be a little bit aggrevating when shooting in low light, as far as holding, it is not too much for SB.

Yes AD9 36x can be little to much. I shot with a 36x for a while and it was hell on chickens, it would take me forever to find the correct one. In low light conditions at rams it was a little tough as well. It was really bad for highpower chickens where I shoot, couldnt see em at all half the time. Went to a FX-III 30x power for smallbore and Weaver T-24x for highpower. Hope this helps.
