Target Size
Are there 2 different target sizes? My local range uses some but they said they aren't the NRA size, they are bigger.

Re: Target Size
NRA air rifle targets are 1/20 scale, NRA smallbore are 1/5 scale, but others sometimes use 1/3 and 1/2 scale. All sizes are relative to high power silhouette targets.

Isn't it 1/10 scale for both air pistol and air rifle, just different distances?BlauBear wrote:NRA air rifle targets are 1/20 scale,

Re: Target Size
Yes you are correct the AirRifle ones are 1/10 Many clubs sometimes will use larger Targets sometime because they are easier to hit and new shooters will not get disappointed...We shoot a fun rifle match while we shoot the official match. We use pistol targets for the newbie match and let the new commers shot them with any rifle they bring....they like so much they come back and shoot the official targets at the next match. We also loan rifles out too....

Re: Target Size
No big deal bear...Have you ever shot the 22 silhouettes with an airgun at airgun distances....its a hoot especialy with the higher powered guns and a plus is you dont have to chase the chickens down that fly about 20 yards when you hit em...

Nope, but did watch Mini-Kitty down an air-rifle chicken at 40 meters with an air rifle she'd never handled before! That youngster is just plain scary!

Hand eye coordination hasn't learned to duck from recoil or anything else yet.
