Looking for a dependable and qualified Gunsmith within a short day's drive of York, Pa. Needed to rebarrel Anschutz action among other things.

All suggestions greatly appreciated.

I used Bob Green (York) to rebarrel my M700 last Winter and was pleased. He's a full time BR gunsmith and has the credentials to backup his work; see any issue of Precision Shooting, look at NE/SE match results and you will see his name listed as gunsmith for at least one shooter.

Another smith I talked to was Clarence Hammonds (Red Lion) however he was unavailable during the time I wanted the work done. He has a good reputation but I can't vouch for it myself.

Full contact info for both can be found under:

You'll have to ask whether they'll work on a rimfire. I suspect Bob will. Get in early since he is busy.

You might want to talk to Ted Ulmer at Ulmers gunsmithing in Potters Mills,Pa.(between Milroy and State College) He can thread your receiver and screw your barrel on.Has multiple reamers for your choice of chamber dimensions. Does excellent work and fairly fast turnaround.
ph.814-364-9230 if you would like to talk to him.
