Would these eye cups be legal for use on our silhouette guns?

I attempted to use one at the 1997* nationals....you wouldn't believe the uproar. You would have thought I was using a shooting rest. I haven't seen the lastest revision of the rules, but back then they said that it was breaking the rules by allowing the gun to touch more than my hand and shoulder. I can't remember the exact clause. Not a problem, just pulled it off and kept on shooting.

They do work really well when shooting into the light and on really bad mirage days. However, because it sounded like it was against the spirit of the rules I stopped using it. Maybe with the rule revisions they will allow it? I honestly don't know.

I can't stand it any longer. I wore a cup when I played sports in school but it wasn't on my eyes. What is an eye cup?
