paralax adjustments
WHEN I ADJUST MY FRONT RING ON MY SCOPE TO A LONGER SETTING THAN I AM SHOOTING THE IMAGE BLURRS SLIGHTLY BUT PERCIEVABLE WOBBLE LESSENS .DOES ANYONE SHOOT THIS WAY OR IS THIS LIKELY TO CAUSE OTHER PROBLEMS ? I AM USING A TASCO TARGET SCOPE10X40. I TRY TO USE 24X AS MY MAGNIFICATION (BRAND NEW TO THIS FORUM) THANKS MRH

I would expect it to shift your point of impact and cause eye strain. Try a lower power if you have trouble with wobble.

If you don't set your paralax fro the corect distance, your target and X hairs WILL NOT be on the same plane. If you are looking down the CENTER of your scope it won't matter but if you are off center your snot will not go to the correct place. Put your gun on bags and set the paralax to something it should not be and move your head back and forth across your scope and watch the immage change in relation the the dot. Then set on the correct paralax and do the same thing. The target and dot remain in the same place in relation to each other.

Jerry G. Hit the nail on the head. I will say it a bit different and add a bit. Correct paralax adjustment. With the rifle on the bags and looking at your target through the scope. Move you head up and down or sideways the cross hair should not move on the target. This is the correct adjustment. If the crosshair moves you need to adjust paralax till the crosshair doesn't move on the target. If the paralax is adjusted correctly the image or target should be well focused crisp and clear. If when paralax is adjusted correctly and the image or target is fuzzy, well that is another problem. You may try to adjust the focus ring at the eyepiece as this may help but note the focus ring at the eyepiece is mainly for focusing the reticle or crosshair. If you do this then recheck the paralax.
If you can't get the scope paralax free ,correct, with a well focused target and crosshair I would return the scope for replacement or repair. This is one of the reasons we pay so much for the scopes we use. I am not trying to be little your equipment as I started with some Tasco scopes and still have them and they are still good after 30 years. But they were made in Japan and the newer ones come form China. So if it isn't right return it that is the only way the Mfgrs know the product isn't working and maybe they will correct it. Yankee
