Will a remington 541 hb make weight for hunter rifle?

Post by 308 »

Sorry for posting similar questions so close together but I don't know anywhere else to get this info.

Will a Remington 541t HB, say with a leup 6.5x20 make weight for hunter rifle, and is it legal in hunter?

Thanks 308
Now, if I can just get 10 Turkeys in a row!!!

if the barrel has a taper to it yes, if its a striaght bull barrel no, it can only be used for the standard class.

IA 541S will weigh at about 7.5 lbs with scope so I suspect the 541 T HB will make weight. I have seen it shot in matches but I never checked the barrel taper. I do believe it is tapered.

You could always send it to me for weigh-in.

I greatly appreciate the offer to test the 541t hb. I'm trying to put off a burning desire for a annie 1712, and saw a 541hb for 400ish, and was just wondering if that would quell the itch for awhile. 308

Good price on the 541T HB. Pick it up.

Then shortly you'll have a nice 541t hb AND a 1712.

I think on the highpower side I can sleep nights with remington 700s, but in the smallbore side I've wanted a 1712 for 20 years or more.

I do so wish there was a closer place to shoot those steel animals, I've been away from the killin of innocent steel critters for too long, oh well one day... 308

20 years is along time to save for a 1712...go for it.
