Do you have a preference if the LA shoot is......
We are waiting until the LSA meeting on March 1 to see if they are going to require LSA membership for out-of-state shooters or just have a reciprocal agreement like everyone else. If it is reciprocal, we will run a state championship, if not we will run a Regional. The price will remain the same though.
We are definitely leaning toward a Regional shoot and if someone knows how to post a poll, please put one up asking if it matters for a state championship or a regional

I don't know if you are aware of the new change in the NRA rules, but, "You don't have to be an NRA member to shoot on a Register or State Match." You must be a member to post a National Record.
In other words, is up to the Match Director to specify wether you must be a member ( NRA ) or not, to participate in your match.
As far as Texas is concerned, if I am hosting the Texas State Championship, the TSRA will require all shooters to be members of TSRA.
I will contact them tomorrow, and see if they will wave this requirement, but I seriously doubt it.
Evelio.

Evelio,
I do not have a problem with TSRA requiring membership as the TSRA at least gives the shooters something in return for their money. Unlike the LSA where you do not even get a newsletter regularly. They are so unorganized that the regularly scheduled annual meeting did not take place as no one knew about it! That is why the meeting is March 1!

Ducky,
You know what my answer is...I paid last year for this match. Now as to state or no state association membership...Coates got a note about the changed meeting date of LSA...I did not, we are both members. Most other state champs that I have shot in have reciprocating state memberships. I can grasp you frustration with the LSA, you and Jerry are the match directors, while I strongly support your decision to listen to the shooters and give them what they want....don't fret the small stuff about states vs. regional.....shooters will still come.
