For Blau Bear
Whatever you give a woman, she's going to multiply.
If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby.
If you give her a house, she'll give you a home.
If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal.
If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart.
She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her.
So - if you give her any crap, you're gonna get a bucket full of shit
Thanks to you know who that forwarded it to me.

It sounds like you misunderstood, Mary. People show their temper sometimes, and we need to accept that and move on, whether it's a man or woman. I'm married to a woman that went through seminary 30 years ago when sexism, even in the Methodist church, was very strong and I've watched her struggle with that discrimination in her career all these years. I've walked this walk as closely as a man can. If I dwelt on it, I'd try to intervene on her behalf and that would help no one.
There is an enormous difference between defending sexist attitudes and acknowledging they still exist among conservatives, moderates and liberals. A show of temper from Palin will cost her far more than a comparable showing from a male candidate. It isn't fair, but it is true.
Do a Google search on "Palin email" and try to evaluate it objectively, without political or gender bias. It's harder than you might think. Are her reported actions pro big business or simply savvy deal making by an ambitious politician? I might distrust the former and simply watch the other.

BB,
I did not misunderstand, I am just taking a stereotypical response to such a 'gender bias' remark as a woman is not stable enough to be president.
As for sexist, gender bias actions, come on man I work in a totally male dominated field and have for over 18 years. Very few have ever learned to deal with my abilities, though nearly all end up with a great respect for me and what I am able to produce, despite intense disagreements politically.
I did not take your remarks personally, just making sure that I can 'fill' the expectations that women are not stable enough to lead in time of crisis.
I've done enough studies on gender bias in my masters program, I would rather continue doing it in real life than reading more research about it.

Ducky,
As for being a master poster, just done a little typing in my day, and the boys that work for me have finally come to terms with the fact that when I have Free Cell and Vegas style solitare going at the same time, then I 'm deep in thought.
But then I don't deal with as high a dollar volume as you do, and the upper level (cubical engineers) managers are usually doing something that requires running interference with, thus slowing my physical production of accomplishments to a snails pace.
As for intellingence and common sense, well I'll give credit to Blue Balls and his intelligence factor, he just hasn't had to deal with the common sense, or lack there of in potentially dangerous situations.

You mean like being the token Democrat at a rifle competition?
Point taken, I have been too idealistic for my own good. And it has nearly gotten me killed. Like the time I enlisted because it was a duty of citizenship.

Don't worry Kitty - half the folks figure I'm not worth the bullet, and the other half just want to see what I do next...
