CZ Scout Stock project done.

Post by kevinpagano »

I finished the stock project on my boys CZ Scout. Was easier than I had thought. Turned out pretty good and now it fits my boy to shoot offhand.

I would never have thought to put bondo on a rifle stock. You did an amazing job on that stock. Very nice work. How much weight did it add, I wonder? Yeah, that looks very nice. Hopefully it holds up well for you.

Cheers!

Nice job! It looks like you did a lot of trial fit-ups while building up the cheek piece?

Not sure about the weight issue but it will definately add weight to the gun. That was ok because it was a light gun that needed weight. I will let you all know the current weight as soon as I can.

Blau, I did a lot of trial and error. Never used bondo before on anything. It was alot easier than I thought. I kept adding until the height was right for my boy. The paint idea came from Jason. Rustoleum textured, multi colored. Sand with OD Green and black speckles.

On another note my other boy has a CZ american that will get the same treatment. The way the CZs are shooting for me and being able to build the stock like this to fit the Shooter, this could be a very inexpensive way to get a new shooter started. I spent under $20 doing this stock and about 6 hours time.

That looks great Kevin! Almost makes me wish I hadn't sold my CZ Silo and ordered a 1712 build from EMcD................almost
Usually shooting scores right in class, too bad its the class below my classification!

Sobr, you just have the bug to tinker so make sure you you keep at least one rifle in your locker to mess with, or you'll end up making "one more little change" to your competition shooter, and that's bad.

Wow, that looks great. I bet it got a grin ear-to-ear from the lucky recipient, too. You might be able to get some more work out of the other son around the house in return for you doing his gun now that he's seen how great the results are. :)
