Thats exactly the comment I thought someone would give me LOL. Well at least I wont have to spend money on christmas decorations next year. It was their after christmas special.

McALICE, Kevin has enough class to stop at the bolt handle, and he sees no need to ugly up the whole stock!

I don't know JB......I think that plain grain stock would look good with a Skittles makeover. The bolt knob would be the "crown jewel" finishing touch. That epoxy sticks real good to wood, let me know Kevin.

Evelio, Blaubear and other interested parties I am going to show the viewers on steelchickens my secret stock paint techniques. I could probably write an indepth article on "How to paint your rifle stock" along some pictures to one of the gun rags and make a handsome profit.

Step 1

After you have carefully taped off the scope and most of the metal, generously use the spray release agent on the areas that will not be painted. If you don't have the "professional release agent" you can use "Crisco" as a alternative release agent.

Now you are ready to paint. I would have taken a picture of the last step but we have snow on the ground covering the grass. Spray the .99 paint on the grass approximately the size of the rifle, the lay the stock on the freshly painted grass. Leave it rest on the painted grass for no longer than
two minutes otherwise the grass will stick to stock. Unless you are after the grassy look. Repeat for the other side. Let the paint dry and then remove tape and wipe off all the release agent.

Actually, I think he is serious, now think about it, the stock was already black, all he did was put the white " grass lines " on it. I guess he forgot to mention the need to pick off the loose pieces of grass that will stick to the stock.
Also, if I was to try that, I think I would at least take the gun out of the stock, that way you don't have to do all the masking, plus you also save money on the Pam and the tape, and make it a really .99cent job.

If you are going to try to replicate coloradoshooter's results follow his directions as closely as possible. I did two stocks this fall. Unfortunately I left them on the lawn too long.

Here are my results:

As you can see in the second picture the taping and release agent also failed.

McAlice, You are going to get paid a vist by the Godfather and Lou Abracca, a contract will be layed before you stating that you will not paint anymore ugly stocks. The Godfather is going to make you and offer you can't refuse! Either your signature or your brains will be on the contract!
