The Anti-Bling Rifle

BlauBear the trigger guard is Anschutz look carefully. I added another picture for all to see. Evelio, BlauBear and others in tomorrows post i will give up some of my painting techniques with pictures on how to paint a rifle stock.

Okay - Got me. I'm only familiar with the tear-drop guard on the FWt. Dang - thought I had ya'!

_shorty your rifle is definately anti bling but I'll bet it shoots as good or better than any anschutz. CZ's rock

Dave, are you on for the 4th sunday for a match. My wife came out and shot with me today and she destroyed me. I had a neighbor with us and what humiliation. We didnt shoot a formal style match but she shot about 24 out of 30 chickens and pigs.

yeah, I'm very happy with it, shoots great! I wouldn't mind an Anschutz at some point, but this 453 Varmint has made it a very comfortable wait and leisurely plan now, hehe. I'll be happy with this one for quite some time, I believe.

That 2x4 stock isn't shaped all that much different than the stock on my M12 was when I got it from CMP. I reshaped it a bit for prone matches, but it still feels like a 2x4 compared to my Pharr stock, or even the CZ stock that I rebuilt. Those things were supposedly training rifles for the military, but I can't imagine what training they were used for. I think they were used just to make the soldiers appreciate the other rifles they were issued a lot more. For all the ugliness packed into the stock, that thing sure shoots well, though.

Seeing the Louisiana decal on the scope makes me think it was made at the State Penitentiary in Angola. I did not know they had a gunsmith program there.
