RT orRTs

I'm getting a stock from Evelio for one of my 1712s. What's the difference in these two and which would be better? I hold with my thumb and fingertips.He needs to know. BTW, Green Bay Packer green and gold!

If you are shooting off of your finger tips, you would want the one that is not split finger. The other one has a wider base so you should be able to hold it better. The split has a smaller base to rest between your fingers. That's my 2 cents worth. Hope that helps.

RTs is the split finger stock. If that's your shooting style, you'll love it.

I just discussed the same thing with Evelio when I commenced my build. Even though I shoot off my fingertips he recommended the RT/S.
He said the bottom isn't one radius that you cannot hold on your fingertips, its still flat but has more radiused corners than the RT.
I personally like the looks of the RT/S better for a Hunter gun as well.

In addition, being new to this game, I may wind up switching to a split finger hold down the line.........the RT/S can work for both whereas the RT would be kinda uncomfy if I do decide to change my grip later.

I like the RT/S Evelio did up for me very, very much, though I use the split finger style because it feels like I have firmer control of the rifle.

As I have explain to several folks before, the actual width of both stocks in the forearm is the same, except the RT/S has a bigger radius around the edges than the RT, but there is still a lot of flat area in the bottom for the tip of the fingers hold, or nuckels hold. The biggest difference between the two, is that the RT/S cheek piece is actually almost 3/8" higher than the RT. In must of the cases, you have to actually go to higher rings to be able to comfortably see tru the scope.
I personally have both type of stocks on my guns, but the RT/S feels more comfortable specially in the smallbore guns. Now for High Power the RT seems to be easier on my cheek, specially after a couple of days of shooting over 200 rounds per day.

200 rounds of high power per day?! Dang, that's a Man! My arm would not just fall off, but jump and run away! Thirty five years ago (when I was still ten feet tall and bullet proof) with an M-14, sure, but no way now!

Thicker cheeks (like mine) go a long way toward soaking up that recoil

I don't get a "cheek weld" it's more of a "jowl" weld.

Thought Paul would have taught you that by now.

hope MoMoody's "Son of Gringo" gun gets here by Wednesday. We're going to try to take advantage of last nice day of the week to shoot a little. I just love all these new guns, kind of like when a buddy gets a new sports car and lets you drive it.

The gun came yesterday(Wed) and we shot it today. Man, does it shoot well and it's prettier than a new gold tooth!.. It shot so sweet we renamed it "Daughter of Gringo". Evelio really does good work...Now if he could only build one that could cook and clean house!!........

When UnkMike said he'd ordered a Pharr in black and silver, I braced to do my best ugly baby routine - you know, the proud parents show the ugliest little thing you ever saw, and you just smile and agree that it's the cutest little thing you ever saw, then excuse yourself to gag in private. But this one works. The silver has a metal flake look that penetrates the inletting and really looks sharp! And like all of Evelio's work, it does shoot!

The River Range Rats are getting quite a collection of Evelio's work in different configurations so it's quite a feast of quality work to play with and look at. A really special thing about these rifles is that they're all used regularly, and shared readily. Not a safe queen among 'em and they stand up to it.
