Internal Stock Weight Hunter Rifle

Would permanently adding weight to a hunter rifle stock break the rule about attachments? I was thinking of adding some tungsten or lead with epoxy to help balance the rifle.

Disclaimer = I am not an NRA official. That being said, adding weight to the inside of a rifle has been done for years, probably decades.

The "attachment" language in the rulse has been the topic of debate many times, but I don't believe I've heard anyone say that adding weight internally is prohibited as an attachment.

Rule 3.1.E of the 2025 rulebook (page 5) states...

"Attachments which do not cause any portion of the rifle to exceed the weight or dimensions as listed herein are permitted provided
they do not extend past the end of the barrel. Sighting devices are not considered “attachments”."

I have a steel weight in the fore-end of my smallbore rifle to bring it up to weight. It's in a hollowed-out slot of the stock under the barrel channel.

I have heard that some folk have been known to insert a lead bar into their tube magazine(s) to increase weight and improve "moment of inertia".
Just sayin'.

But there's also this: -
3.18 Equipment - General - All devices or equipment which may facilitate shooting and which are not mentioned in these Rules, or which are contrary to the spirit of these Rules and Regulations are forbidden. The Match Director or Jury shall have the right to examine a shooter’s equipment or apparel. The responsibility shall be upon the competitor to submit questionable equipment and apparel for official inspection and approval in sufficient time prior to the beginning of a match so that it will not inconvenience either the competitor or the official(s).

It's a question about whether it's even allowed. If it is, great. If not, I'd never do it anyway and hope its not noticed. I'm figuring eeight glued internal to the stock would be considered part of the stock.
