New Winchester Rifle
Has anyone seen or fired the new Winchester Wildcat bolt action rifle? It probably won't give the CZ's a run for their money, but at a MSRP of $230, it might make a decent entry level rifle.
I just wonder how many third world countries are involved in what Winchester describes as "world-wide sourcing" for the production of this rifle.

I looked at one today. It is a Russian TOZ-78 without the AK iron sights. It is not restocked just restained with "Genuine" walnut stain. The street price was $260 at Ft.Thompson's (Sherwood, AR). I bought my TOZ "barely used" for $119 at a gun shop in Mena,AR. ("New" price was $140)
Bone stock, it shot a nice group at 100m and a 10-shot ragged hole at Pigs. It has an adj. trigger down to 1.5lbs, a target crown, and a very smooth short-throw bolt. I bought this for an inexpensive "starter" silhouette gun for my 12 year old. It does need some weight added since it is only about 6lbs.

Pretty is as pretty does. If it shoots that well for only $150 it's a good one to recommend for beginning shooters on a budget.

Actually that rifle is available for $129.00 and it is extremly accurate, it does have an adjustable trigger, comes with two 5 rounds and two 10 round mags. and the end of the barrel is threaded ???? a hell of a gun for a new junior shooter, have to agree ugly as hell, but a good paint job will make it look nicer. Several of the junior shooters are using them in our area.
