Selling all my Metallic Silhouette gear (guns, ammo, etc)
I have some questions on values for the experts, also see if you like something.
I need advice on values, and yes its all for sale or I wouldn't post it.
First and fore most are the twins (that's what I like to call them). I want to sell them both, possibly as a pair (scoped Up and all). From all the Match Rifles I have seen they are unique.... and well shooters (see pictures).
I'd like to sell them with the scopes as a "ready to compete set up".

Anschutz 54 MS. The barrel was shortened by 2" to accommodate a adjustable barrel weight system (it's not a suppressor).Stock Mods.... and well see pictures. its a great shooter with perfect if not adjustable balance.

The other is a Remington Mohawk 600 (short action 7-08) it started out life as a 308 and was re-barrled with a 7mm hourglass ultra match barrel (Kreiger I believe). The bolt is a competition bolt (unknown brand but should be easy to recognize) with lightened customized handle (see photos). The action is lapped and trued to a butter smooth throw. Anschutz trigger guard, and a very nice trigger.

I also have a Remington 541X newish unfired with all the CMP sights (Wilsons) and stuff (safe queen).

Also a Remington 540XR it was shortened both barrel and stock for a youth shooter (me when I was 14). Its equipped with Leupold X24 scope.
Next comes Thompson Contender 7TCU Barrel and 22LR barrel. I will include the 7TCU dies and brass (see photos).

Sorry for the long post (I have more Metallic Silhouette stuff than I thought).....
Last I have (2) Older (all steel solid quality) Weaver T25 target scopes. Great glass and in very good condition (see pictures).

ANYONE who responds with valid positive input will be graced with excellent long distance KARMA!!

I just saw a 541x sell on Gunbroker for $625. It had been fired but in like new cond. Seemed like a reasonable price to me.
Any idea what you want for the T25s?

Re: Selling all my Metallic Silhouette gear (guns, ammo, etc
That's the issue, I have no idea what they are worth. Back in the day (late 80's) they probably were a high end scope and from what I remember cost a lot (new I'm sure over $700). Now..... I'm looking for a decent offer. One of the two is still mounted to a Savage 112 target rifle I'm not selling. I would want to replace the unit on the gun with the $ from the sale. The other is just sitting in the safe.
Should I just put them (or everything) on Gunbroker to maximize my funds?
Thankx

HI ,
I really think you should do your own research ... because you sound like you want the last nickel ...
Otherwise , you have 2 choices ...
Put a price OR put on auction
decide

Although I feel this is positive input you may disagree...
The twins as you call them that you have for sale are indeed nice rifles with unique features. They are both however are modified in a fashion that makes them desirable to a very limited base of buyers, especially as a pair. They are also being offered with scopes that some people may like but many do not. Being offered as a pair and in the conditions that they been modified will extremely limit your ability to move them. Those scopes should be easy to sell on their own, they are a marketable commodity, especially in this community. The rifles will be much easier to sell one at a time vs. offering them with optics as a pair. An unmolested 54 MS in good shape usually goes for around $1000-1200 give or take. Although these are nice rifles, a factory as new rifle in box will always bring more money than any kind of modified rifle. Regardless of what your modifications cost it will be difficult to get someone else to pay above and beyond what they could get a factory rifle for elsewhere. You should also include which variant of triggers are installed, whose barrel is on the re-barreled one, and approximate round count if known. Test targets and ammo used with 40m and 100m 5 shot groups would also be a good thing to show. This is what will get you the most money. Sure it will be easier to sell them both and ship everything once to one person, but I think you'll find that the price you will need to except to make this happen will be below your expectations. Lots of ads to search here to look at values. You will have a lot better luck selling them if you come up with a price you're willing to take as opposed to just opening a conversation. Although I understand you're asking for help in looking for pricing "suggestions" you're going to get lowballed, it's the internet. So let me know if you're willing to take $1000 shipped for the twins and I'll get a check from my third-cousin sent out tomorrow...
Just my 2¢.

Re: Selling all my Metallic Silhouette gear (guns, ammo, etc
Thanks for all the input so far. I posted this late last night and now I am at work teaching a class all day (no phone or computer). I will make email contact with interested individuals this evening (I'm in CA).
I knew having glass mounted to the guns muddied the waters a bit.....Shit!
Kinda wish I had not made this post and just put everything on GB. I may still try.
Be back this evening. Thankx guys

That Rem 600 is just amazing... No idea what it would be worth. Email sent on value of the 54 MS and T25s.

The rifles are on gunbroker.com now. I got sick of all the bs. You can find them there.
If they don't sell I will figure something out with someone I'm sure.
Thank for all your help, interest, and guidance (especially all of you who said to just put them on GB to maximize profits).
