Help with velocities 6.5x47L

Post by Seamus O'Grady »

I want to reduce my velocities for a number of reasons and was at the range testing some new loads of Reloader 15.

I came up with a batch of readings from mid 2400s on up to mid 2700s.

What velocity is needed to knock down C, P and T with a 107 Sierra Match King?

What about taking down Rams with a 142?

Rifle in question is a 6.5 x47L.

Any help greatly appreciated!

I shoot my 107s and my 142 at about 2650. Other than the fact I am not a good HP shot, I have not rung any animals.

Jerry, if you had been at the AZ state match last weekend and hit a fair number of rams I guarantee you would have rung at least one ram like the rest of us. I rang two with my 6.5 Viking (TKS like) and two with my 6.5X47 Lapua (can't load it any hotter).
