Thanks Dee, I have the targets (paper) and e-mail. It's great when one can get "good" info first time around. I saw the pix of your new toy. Awesome. I 'll let you know when I get a little father along. I haven't found anywhere around my parts that sells air rifles like the ones you are talking about. Also where or what kind of air do you have to have? The only place I have seen air is at Sports Authority, and they charge like 4.00 for a little paint ball canister. Is this what you are refering to? thanks for your help. david

David, look up paintball or scuba in your yellow pages....you guys have more than one dive shop in NC. Unlike El Paso. Arizona Air guns, Air Force Air guns, Pyramid air guns, check out their web sites.

thanks mary, is this a special type of air, or can one use a compressor and fill a scube tank themselves? Sorry if I sound like a complete newbe, but the truth is .........ah heck......I am. Dee, I'm still drooling over the pix of your new toy. If you should come across another deal, please let me know. I know they are listed on other sites, but I wouldn't know if it were good, worn out, or anything else. thanks guys, david

As for air you really want breathable air filling if possible IE Scuba shop or Firemans tank. You can use a hand pump but expect to pump High pressure 3 strokes per shot or more. The main thing is getting air that is as moisture free as possible. Anyplace filling breathing air will cover that otherwise a special water trap is needed for a pump/simple compressor setup.

You will not find the rifles I am talking about at any stores. Oh and I think I made a typo on the post of my 8002 it was $1500 not $500 I missed the 1. Still a deal but not THAT good, I WISH!!

The thing about PCP rifles is that they usually take fill pressures of 200 BAR or 2900 PSI or more. Some operate on around 2000 PSI but those are few and nothing I would recommend. A scuba tank has a rating of 3000-3300 PSI so when you go to fill the rifle each time you will draw down the pressure and after just two or so fills it will no longer fill to the max fill pressure and thus you will get fewer and fewer shots per fill. This is where a 4500 PSI tank comes in handy. I think I can fill my S400 with a 314cc cylinder about 50 times before I need a refill with Scuba I would be lucky to get 2 and another 10 diminished fills. With the 8002 having a 200cc cylinder and only sipping air with a regulator I get 200+ shots a fill and can probably fill it 75 times before I would need my tank topped off. 75x200= 15000 pellets  Thats a lot of shootin! This is where 10m rifles are not so bad with a hand pump if that is all you have. A slow pump up to pressure would be minimal while giving maximum shots between fills.

Check the fireman inspection shops and air safety places to see if they fill 4500 before you get one and can not get it filled.

Hawk-1, Depending on where you live, local fire stations will sometimes fill your tank if you have one with a fireman's valve on it. Also, like Dee says, the shops that service and inspect the tanks used by the fire departments and industrial plants can also fill for a fee. I know of several shooters that get the local firehouse to do it. The rural our small town departments will sometimes do it. Larger municipalities typically won't due to "liability" issues. The best thing is to get a fireman interested in shooting air rifles. Then you will be hooked up with free air for a while. Dee and I got our 4500 psi tanks from Pomona Airguns and they came with the fireman's valve.
