Blind Hog Strikes Again...
Went duck hunting on Sat am and Nothing... (well we did kill one duck, but the hunting wasn't quite that good if you know what I mean...)Decided on rabbit hunting afterwards and got talked into deer hunting...

Was a 'lucky' shot. Right at 400 into a 15-20 mph cross wind. Held the leupold on 14X from the prone position well over the back and droped the .300 wsm round right into the pumping station. Looking back at the shot, I don't think I could have made it again with 10 trys! Was just a good 'mis-hit' is all... Borrowed rifle none the less. Granted I used to have it's s/n +1 twin and I sighted it in back in november, but borrowed none the less...
Details on the hunt - Spot and stalk in cut corn fields. Crosed about 1/2 mile of cut corn field to get to a fence row for cover. This got me right at 600 out from the herd. Used the fence to close to within 500 than crawled on my belly for the last 100 yards or so to get within 'range'. Took the shot prone and could not have went down and drawn an x on him and placed the bullet any better.
Not a record breaking shot or buck by any means, but my best to date. Buck scored 150 & 4/8 (Net 145 & 2/8) with 25" beams and little over 18" spread.
