Where's the guy who runs this place???
Hello everyone....
I hope you have all been well and shooting up a storm. This spring has been a great one where I've packed in a lot of work, baseball with the kids and scouts. The wife and I also took a 10-year-late honeymoon to Europe. In the end, the eldest and I took a run at Conard and wow... I had to face the realization that my back/leg ache was getting worse. That was the worst 2-days I ever had. I headed into the Doc that week and he confirmed it was a classic case of Sciatica - sort of a pinched-nerve thing. Anyhow, I've been running from doc to doc, waiting for a low down and the news came down this week. We're going to try a number of therapies and treatments and try to avoid surgeries as I'm just a little too young to go digging around in the flesh yet. Anyhow, between the inability to really get a shooting stance without activating my pinched-nerve and the treatments I'll be starting, it looks like my season is sort of shot. I was really looking forward to visiting all of the big matches this year, especially after having visited and made so many great friends at the matches last year. In the end, this should be a minor thing for a guy my age, but its been a little disappointing shooting like crap and fighting pain the whole time I'm supposed to be having fun. My goal has now turned to getting my boys all geared up and shooting this year so we can trot around as something of a team next year.
And a big shout out to Harrison my oldest for earning his shooting vest. After tying with me twice at Conard, he's taken full advantage of my crappy-state and out-shot me at the last local match which earns him his vest free and clear. At least something good came of my aches and pains!

Ouch! Avoid surgery if possible, but taking care of it now is the right choice. Hang in there - it will get better!

Hey Mike how goes it? Sorry to hear about your sciatica, I've got it too but not as bad as you say you do. Mine is in my right leg as well. I'm lucky that its not all the time, only when I do something to aggrivate it and dont ask me what is I do to aggrivate it but oh man when it hits it hits like Mike Tyson. I went to a chiropractor and had him look at it and mine wasnt to bad where all he had to do was put me on this machine that pulls your legs down and away to "open" up the spine and get things back to normal. Seemed to work alittle. I feel for ya man. Did Byron ever get his knife

Maybe your back injury is more of a honeymoon injury than a shooting injury?mordecai wrote:The wife and I also took a 10-year-late honeymoon to Europe.

Byron, you know how those long plane rides can really mess up a back, so maybe it was all a ploy on Mordecai's part to gain sypmathy from his wife.

All this suggestive marital innuendo is merely Mike's ploy trying to distract from his failure to beat me by one point again this year. On the other hand, Junior's beating the Old Man should be commended by all.
