Rifle Silhouette Matches for 2009 in Chattanooga Tennessee
Critter shootin’ again this year in Chattanooga Tennessee. Here’ the skinny on what’s happenin’.
Monthly Smallbore Rifle Silhouette matches in Chattanooga Tennessee will be as follows: 18 April, 30 May, 18 July, 17 October & 21 November.
Note the 2009 Tennessee State Championship will be on Saturday, 29 August, the last Saturday in August, this year instead of the third in order to give more time after Nationals. Same as the past couple of years but bigger, we hope. Details to follow.
We are also going to shoot three matches of scaled/on paper High-power Silhouette just for giggles. These matches will be held on 19 April, 19 July and 18 October. (The Sunday after the Saturday Small-bore matches) Scaled targets will be shot. Chickens at 200 yards and the rest of the course (P,T,R) at 300 yards.
Very little restrictions on guns except must be center fire and fired from offhand position, loaded with only 5 rounds at a time.. The idea is to get folks out shooting and having fun without too many rules beyond those necessary for safety. Go through the safe and get our some kinda centerfire rifle. Yea, AR;s and all the “Black: guns are welcome as long as they are strictly bolt action or semiautomatic or otherwise one pull - one shot. Got a 600 Nitro? Bring it on !!! Like the old saying: “You dance with the one what brung ya”. We may modify these rules after the first match if necessary. We can do that since it is not a NRA match and we are “Power Hungry Match Directors”.
Keep in mind - Entry to the Chattanooga Rifle Club property gate is limited to members only. Non-member competitors MUST contact Match Director, Ed Jones or Nelson Fagan, prior to arriving, to let them know their desire to compete in the match. Before match day, contact Ed Jones or Nelson Fagan at the numbers below, to make arrangements to be met and admitted at the gate on match day. They will be met at the gate and escorted to the proper venue. This may be accomplished by cell phone after 11:00 am on the day of the match, by calling (706) 897-2306. Do not follow another member through the gate. Got Any Questions?
