Pennsylvania State Lever Action Match
The State lever action matches were held this weekend at Tiadaghton Sportsmen Club west of Williamsport, PA. The state champions are as follows.
smallbore, Brian Wakefield, 54/60.
pistol cartridge, Brian Wakefield, 54/60.
centerfire, Gary Holben, 50/60.
Al Foust and the club did a very nice job running the matches and we had a great time.

Brian Wakefield shoots here in Bradford and is a member of the Club. He attended and did well. Generally however, there aren't very many shooters in Bradford these days. And, of the ones who do, there aren't any hardcore shooters who are going to travel. Although, we run quality matches every year, either a CB State, Regional, or occasionally Hunter Pistol Nationals, a number of the guys who help run our matches don't shoot. Myself, I have a teenage son who competes in sports. I spent the majority of the summer after our regionals over 4th of July involved coaching him with weight training, summer wrestling, etc. and didn't shoot any more to speak of. (I didn't even participate in our September Goldenrod Shoot & Ax throw.) The only reason I shot some good scores early in the summer was because Ryan didn't participate in Spring Travel Soccer (the first time in about 4 years) and I had a couple of months I could concentrate on shooting. Untill, my kid's out of school, (he's a ninth grader) shooting is down on my priority list.
