My Opinion: Keep Politics off the forum
IMHO:
This is no place for political commentary. We hear enough of that crap on the radio and TV.
If someone wants political commentary they know where to go for it but please:
LEAVE IT OFF OF STEELCHICKENS, WE HAVE MORE INTERESTING THINGS TO TALK ABOUT

I disagree, politics are a part of our lives and an important part of being an American. And a very important part of shooting and our culture. I thought that was what the Club House was for, other topics.
If you think some politicians do not want to take away your .22 Target Rifle you are mistaken. Therefore this is an appropriate place to voice your opinion. If you think that Obama or Clinton is your guy or gal for the White House then don't be afraid to say it.
I do believe we should all keep it civil however.

From the Webmaster on establishing this forum:
Greg Sullivan
Seems to me that this is exactly the right place to discuss issues that should be of grave concern to us all. IMHOThe new Clubhouse Forum has been established to meet some new goals!
We want to strongly encourage the use of these forums as a way for the whole Silhouette Shooting Community to keep in touch and kindle the fires of our great sport. New shooters shouldn't have to look too far to find a way to a match and we want to help break the ice as quickly as possible.
The Clubhouse Forum is intended for general posts, BS'ing, wise-cracking, posting Match results and plugging upcoming events.
This will also help keep the main Smallbore Forum a smidge more focused so shooters can find a particular topic. (You'll notice we've moved some Clubhouse-related topics out already.)
So, by all means, treat this new Forum like you would your local Sportsmans Clubhouse. All are welcome and we hope to see you on the firing line.
Greg Sullivan

I think it would be more appropriate to ask the moderators to open a Political or Activism forum.
I, for one, like to come here to hear opinions on knocking little steel animals off the stands, what it takes to get it done, and where to go to share in this mutual sickness that we all share.
I really don't want to have to filter through political opinions (whether I agree with them or not) to get to talk about shooting.
They also have a tendency to to descend into personal attacks. The only thing that i've seen here that resembles that so far is giving Mr. Neihouse a hard time about his very pretty guns.

As the Clubhouse I think it a place to discuss things one might discuss in the ummmm Clubhouse. No need for personal attacks but spirited discussion is the 1st Right if we don't use it the 2nd one is as good as gone. Once there is a stigma attached to using owning and enjoying guns as already is starting to exist then it will be like talking taboo.
There are an estimated 20 million illegal aliens in the US. The Feds say there is no way they can round them up. Last I checked there were a lot more than 20 million guns out there what makes them think they can round them up?
In the end the 2nd Right is number 2 for a reason. To make damn sure number one is never taken away and to ensure all the rest get followed. The 4th and 5th are actually going bye bye quicker and with less care from anyone it seems than the 2nd.
When push comes to shove the day they come to get the guns they will have a major problem on their hands. I can see a high turn over rate for that position. Can you imagine the want ad. "Needed highly motivated individual to strip law abiding citizens of there rights by confiscating all their firearms. No experience required, great health plan but no retirement" Yeah uh huh that will go over like a turd in the punch bowl.
I know most gun owners are law abiding, hard working Americans but I really think the day they make criminals out of us all there will be a fringe that fights back with more than court challenges. Even the most law abiding of people have their limitations and giving up the right to defense most of all is not acceptable regardless of who says what.
