suggestions for summer weight vest

Post by Seamus O'Grady »

I reckon my Winstead vest is going to be pretty hot at Ridgway. Any suggestions on a summer weight vest?

Thanks

You should be fine with your regular vest, most everyone still uses their regular vest there..... Now if we were in Phoenix, or Arkansas that maybe a different story 8)

Seamus:
Don't woory about get to hot. You'll have plenty of time to cool off between relays. There's is usually anywhere from 5 to 6 relays at the national matches and the time between animals for a individual shooter is sometimes 45 minuets.

Hardscrabble makes a nice, summer vest if you want the best. There are various, canvas shotgunning vests with mesh backs, lower prices. Columbia Sportswear makes a couple.

Yup. They get toasty, but it makes you appreciate taking them off. You learn real fast how important hats, water and sports drinks are, too.

2000 feet above sea level. Some years it hasn't been above 80 and we were looking for anything that was warm. Bring jacket and rain gear.

I don't have one (yet), but I see Hardscrabble vests on the line even when its 100+++ here in the summer.
Usually shooting scores right in class, too bad its the class below my classification!
