Texas 2025 22BPCRA Fall Classic

Post by texasmac »

Following are the results from the recent 2025 Texas 22 BPCRA Fall Classic 3-day match hosted by David Barnes on his ranch and saddle-shop property. There were 52 competitors, up from 36 last year. Four shooters (K. Tebbe, R. Moose Wheeler, V. Ballew, M. Bell) shot both scope and irons. Two of the shooters (K. Tebbe, E. Himelhoch) shot off benches with bench cross sticks to determine if it was an advantage vs. prone since the .22 BPCR Association is considering making bench shooting an option.

The mornings were in the mid-40’s, warming up to the mid-60’s in mid-70’s during the day with light variable winds. There was light rain most of the match Saturday. This is a working cattle ranch resulting in only one stoppage this year to allow one of David’s cows to “mosey” past the down-range targets on their way to and back from the local water tank (aka pond to you non-Texans or city folks).

Breakfast tacos were provided in the morning & sausage wraps at lunchtime, both hot off the grill. After the Saturday match we all filled up on hamburgers & fixings cooked over a mesquite firewood heated grill, along with some deserts.

Special thanks to David Barnes for hosting the match, Kenny Tebbe for coordinating everything, and the individuals and companies that contributed prizes. If you didn’t make it this year, you missed a great match, outstanding competition, & excellent food. Hope to see y’all next year.
