Henry Frontier 24"
Just received a Henry Frontier 24" 22LR. Replaced the factory sights with Lyman globe on the front and Williams peep on the receiver. Got some Lee Shaver inserts. I plan on using this rifle for lever action silhouette shooting.
Took it to the range and I was VERY impressed.
Target is a 4" target at 40 meters. Used CCI SV ammo. 10 shots in the bullseye are off the bench. 5 shots outside the bullseye are offhand (I need some offhand practice with this rifle).

For no more than they cost those Henry 22 rifles sure shoot good.
I use one around the ranch for general 22 duties.
I also a a fella put a tang and globe sight on one and shot an informal 22 bpcr match, and that rifle held it's own on the 200 meter rams.

Yup. They are excellent rifles.
I really wish they had the Big Boys with a 24" barrel. If things work out well in rimfire lever action silhouette, I just might get another rifle for pistol caliber silhouette, but I want a 24" barrel.

I have a couple friends that have the Bigboy's in 44 mag. Nice rifle but heavy as heck.
I have another friend with one of the Henry originals in 44 wcf, he had a trigger job done on it, and that thing is a real shooter.

Jerry I believe it was either a Baldwin or Ukranian. He drilled and tapped the tang and the adjusted the angle of the sight. Could of been an MVA some of those have enough adjustment on the spring, but was been back in 2017 , during the Eclipse and the "End of the World" match I had here at the ranch.

Re: Henry Frontier 24"
I contacted Henry a few months back asking if they would put a 24” barrel on their 30/30’s. The reply was that they hadn’t considered it but would if there was enough interest from shooters. I would suggest everyone interested in seeing a Henry big bore rifle with a 24” barrel produced to send an email or contact Henry asking if they would consider doing so. In both PC or Centerfire. The more people asking the better chance of it happening.
An email can be sent to them on the Henry website. I don’t know if anyone has posted something along this topic or not, but thought it wouldn’t hurt to bring it up.

Re: Henry Frontier 24"
A number of us have talked with Henry about this very topic in recent years. Might as well continue to give them the input.
They make a very nice .410 shotgun version with a 24" barrel. All they need is a different caliber.

Let's ask for a 24" .357 while we're at it.Deau-we wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 8:18 pm I contacted Henry a few months back asking if they would put a 24” barrel on their 30/30’s. Re: Henry Frontier 24"
I've asked Henry to offer the 24" Frontier rimfire rifles with the Monte Carlo comb rear stocks like the Varmint models, suggesting that they could be marketed as their "Silhouette Special" model.
It can't hurt if others make similar requests.

You can contact Henry and purchase a Monte Carlo stock for $65. I asked them about it a few months ago, but didn’t buy one.Jetmugg wrote: Tue Oct 22, 2024 2:08 pm I've asked Henry to offer the 24" Frontier rimfire rifles with the Monte Carlo comb rear stocks like the Varmint models, suggesting that they could be marketed as their "Silhouette Special" model.

The Rossi R92 is a great pcla rifle. It has a 24" barrel, is already D&T'ed for a tang sight and shoots fantastic.
