Well, maybe this could revive the silhouette sport. Shouldn't we approach the Silhouette Committee to investigate the possibilities?

Re: 2016 Arizona State Championship Controversary
Well, "Innocent," (Innocent? Hah!) I have to admit that I was foiled in my attempt to bring some real class to the event, and shoot it naked.... It was my original intent, but, as you well know, I'm a Northwest Pe Ell wienie, with a full cover of pasty white, fish belly-like skin, and I couldn't find a powerful enough sun creme to get through six days of that burning Raton sun! My dermatologist calculated that I would need a strength of about 400 plus, and I just couldn't find any sun screen that went that high. Y'all gotta be tough to shoot down there! If the sun don't bake your eyes out, the wind blows you backward off the line! And them durn anemic deer, whattya call them, anterlopers, kept running across my sightline screwing me up even more. So reluctantly, I decided to shoot in my vest that you got me and my matching baby blue crocs....... Missed you, lady, where were you?Innocent wrote:My only comment is I'm sorry I missed seeing the old white guy shoot naked!!! Such a waste of a great vest Mel, I would have considered joining you and shooting in my vest only!

Well pasty white skinned creature.....I'm stuck in jail with the county working my butt off, got lots of leave time but the boss will not let me take it because I am the only one that understands and can operate the new computer system. I will make one trip out west for Roger Parks Memorial match in El Paso!

Mr Beckley, The NRA Silhouette Committee in their review statedJim Beckley wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2016 11:28 am The bottom line is if Webster wasn't wearing a glove he wouldn't have had to face a jury. Old Ranger you are correct the NRA should have backed the jury's decision, but that isn't how the world works anymore. Metalmisser, I would love to meet you!
You stated the NRA Should have backed your decision even though they felt a warning would have been enough. The competitor admits to a violation of Rule 3.18 by failing to have the “archery glove” reviewed by the Match Director prior to using it in the tournament. However, a warning to remove the “glove” should have been sufficient with further action taken if the “glove” was not removed. The competitor needs to be more aware of the rules and their requirements.
Assuming I heard correctly, You and Mr. Bonner were allowed to defend your actions to the entire Board of Directors in a hearing. Assuming I heard correctly, you both were unsuccessful in convincing the people in the NRA that your actions were justified.
Assuming I heard correctly, The NRA Board of Directors voted to disqualify both of your scores from that match and ban you from participating in the 2018 State Championship.
The undeniable truth is, if I would have been disqualified from the first match when everyone involved recognized that I was wearing the archery glove, none of this would have happened. That alone alters the perspective of integrity.
I no longer compete in Rifle Silhouette. Somehow, the fun was taken out of it.
Best of luck!

Re: 2016 Arizona State Championship Controversary
I will venture this observation from what I know and I will attempt to avoid evidentiary disputes. The NRA essentially found 'misconduct' or fault because the jurors had an interest in the outcome and therefore lacked integrity. I submit that NO jury at any match is devoid of an interest in the outcome of their match....the NRA does not provide a neutral to deal with protests. The NRA decision is flawed. The competitor's use of gloves or other non weather related coverings must be declared by the competitor prior to the start of competition and approved or disapproved at that time

Re: 2016 Arizona State Championship Controversary
This is retarded.
Two guys that had nothing to do with this crap are banned by the NRA for competition, nice way for thr NRA to care about silhouette. As a jury member, I now have to worry some crap some other guy pulled will get me banned from a state championship.
Is there someone at the NRA we can write to voice our displeasure? I don't expect it to do anything but at least they will know.

Re: 2016 Arizona State Championship Controversary
If they had disqualified me for something of substance, there would not have been a problem even if they did gain on the scoreboard. If I would have been disqualified in the first match, there would not have been a problem. If I continued to wear the glove, there would not have been a problem. It is amazing that so few people can look at this objectively and see that.
Assuming an "Archery Glove" does in-fact fit the definition of "Glove" in the rule book, if it was such an offensive violation to merit disqualification, why was I not disqualified for it in the first match?
There is absolutely no way to justify (please read definition of justify before you answer) a disqualification for something at the end of the second match which was worn since the start of the first match. That is exactly the problem in defending their actions. Certainly you can say it was alright if you have zero interest in fairness.
A Jury should be objectively (please read definition of objectively before you answer) when deciding someone's fate in a state Championship.
Would anyone of you want a jury to decide based on personal reasons and not what is morally right?
The NRA is not trying to be evil or mean to anyone. They are having to make decisions that affect the integrity of the sport.
The jury trying to define a device that only covers the fingers to equal that of glove as defined by the rule book probably did not go over very well either.

One of the jury members in question shot the last state championship I attended. and all 3 attended the state match I shot in the week before. Seems there is a lot of false information floating around.

I heard, and said, they were not able to attend the 2018 State Championship, so that is not false information (yet). As far as I know, nobody said anything about the 2017 State Championship. From what I understand, the decision was not made final until last month when the entire NRA Board of Directors voted on it.
Let me know if I am inaccurate about 2018.
