Re: Question about RimfireCentral.com
I'm a member of RFC. +1 on the value of info there as previously stated -- take it for what it's worth. I do find the info on the Martini forum to be generally above average, maybe because there aren't too many doofuses (doofusii?) that shoot Martinis.

Re: Question about RimfireCentral.com
Regardless of forum, almost no one I've seen will measure a group even close to properly to exaggerate some false reality that they are the epitome of accuracy. I can pinpoint the worst group, but I'll hold my tongue.
I am NOT Danny Hatch.

Re: Question about RimfireCentral.com
There's no need to create any animosity that can be avoided. It's not a personal slight against me so it would be distasteful for me to make such a statement. It's just a giant peeve of mine.

I am NOT Danny Hatch.

Re: Question about RimfireCentral.com
I see a lot of groups that I consider dubious, but they have no impact on me so why stress over it. Some of these guys would be setting records by what they report, but it's never at a match for some reason. (Not everyone is guilty tho)

Re: Question about RimfireCentral.com
I did not come here to roast another web site.
I have seen some great claims. It never bothered me, but when I was thinking about moving up from my Remington 541-T with out the HB to an Anscutz, I was told by many to buy a CZ and get "Just as good accuracy for far less money", I got a little tired of it.
I bought a new 1416 HB with the 5098 trigger.
I was told I could have bought a CZ and just change a spring with one from a hardware store and get one almost as good as on the Anschutz.
HOWEVER, some folks really knowt their stuff.
One member recomended my second Anschutz on gun broker via PM so no one else would bid on it. MUCH appreciated, my Secnod Anschutz is a 64 Silhouette. 64 MS. What a Rifle! Fits me for offhand perfect and has the 5091 trigger.
Today I saw a 50 yard one hole 17 cal group posted that looks like it was shot with a 22 at 25 yards. I have a 17 and the holes are different.
They have offhand rifle matches at 50 and 25 yard open sight or scope. I shoot all 4 each month. This has helped my shooting ability a lot. Some of those folks are really good shots. I believe them.
There are some really great offhand shooters.
I have learned a lot by reading conversations among the good shooters, like the latest firing between heartbeats after exhale.
Whe I post what my rifle will do, I use an average of 5 5 shot groups. Benchrest is not my thing, I just want to know what to feed my rifles.
I have read about this site for a while and decided to check it out. I shoot silhouettes locally in a relaxed fasion. I wanted to find other places to shoot and work on my form so I looked here.
This Sunday I am driving 1.5 hours to shoot at Waterloo Rifle and Pistol club beause I found it here.

Re: Question about RimfireCentral.com
Yes, post on the related topic, "Silhouette Shooting," on RFC and here. If more equipment Silhouette specific related, I would elect Steel Chickens for the best answers. Then there is: http://www.riflesilhouette.com/, which you are probably aware of. I hope you find what you are looking for. Enjoy the Silhouette discipline.kd5zmg wrote:Wanted to know who here is a member of the rimfirecentral.com forum. I am asking because if I ask a question there, how many silhouette enthusiasts/experts/masters from this forum will see what I post there.
Maybe it is better to post in both areas so I can ensure my sources for information is broadcasted adequately.
Recommendations please.

Re: Question about RimfireCentral.com
RFC seems to do more BR shooting or supported shooting. Most of the steelchicken shooters here are offhand (Standing) shooters. I mean is there anyone here claiming a half inch group offhand?

Sure, here's a five-shot group...

... shot indoors at 16 yards!
