There is one listed over on the 6mmbrshooters website. They are wanting to sell with about 8k of ammo, maybe they will break it up.
Probably better to just get Tony to build you one.

I did some more research over the weekend and went to a match. What I'm interested in doing is building is a CMP Rimfire Sporter legal for the CMP Rimfire game.
Here's what I've come up with so far.
1. most guys are starting with a plain 10/22 out of the box receiver
2. replace stock with a Boyds Pro Varmint Stock
3. replace barrel with a .920 Alum-Lite Majestic Barrel
4. replace trigger with a Timney
All of this with a 6X scope makes weight of under 7.5 lbs.
There's no way to get the receiver slide assembly. You're stuck with buying a Ruger 10/22. Some companies offer a receiver blank with a jig to drill for a complete receiver but seems like to much work.
If you have any other suggestions please advise.

It depends on your budget and the requirements you set for what you want. I'm actually building a 10/22 right now for hunter class silhouette.

1. I started with a CST Titan receiver and Match bolt.
2. I will getting a custom stock, but I do have a Boyds Pro Varmint. It's a great value and if the shape suits you for this discipline, great.
3. I went an odd direction for barrel. A good friend of mine is out to prove he can get a 10/22 shoot with the custom actions in rimfire benchrest. He's getting mighty close. I need a tapered barrel to qualify for hunter class and that isn't a traditionally popular contour for 10/22s. We got the Green Mountain sporter gunsmithing blank. He's lapping, slugging, crowning, and chambering the barrel for me. For you since you're wanting a light barrel, I would actually get the Kidd ultra lightweight barrel. It's 1/4lb lighter than the Alum-lite barrel and is the overwhelming favorite in the 10/22 crowd for a light and accurate barrel not to mention it's cheaper than the Alum-lite.
4. I wanted the Kidd two stage. Two stage may not appeal to you, but the Kidd two stage is able to be configured as light as a combined 6 ounces or much higher. The Timney is set at 2 3/4lb from the factory. The Kidd is a bit more than the Timney, but the money you saved buying the Kidd barrel over the Alum-Lite barrel along with combined shipping from Kidd rather than paying shipping from both Timney and Alum-Lite makes the Kidd/Kidd combo cheaper.

Based on this site, the trigger is required to be 3lbs. I'm not sure if the Timney trigger is adjustable or if the Kidd two stage is able to be set that high. I know that you can get a Kidd single stage that high or you could just do some form of a trigger job on the factory trigger.

There are a million ways to part together a 10/22 and I think that's a neat thing. They can be customized to exactly what you're looking for since there is such a wide variety of options.

Not to advertise another forum, but Rimfire Central has the most active 10/22 section online. If you have some specific questions regarding a component, it's almost guaranteed that someone there has 40 of them in their house.

My wife is currently doing the same thing you are, building a CMP Sporter rifle. She went with Kidd internals and a factory receiver, with a Revolution stock. She is currently using a cut and recrowned factory bull barrel, but is right at the weight limit. I think we will end up with the Kidd tapered barrel eventually.

For what it is worth, it would have been a little over a hundred dollars cheaper to have bought one of the Kidd barreled actions from the beginning. I think he lists it as the "Classic" action or some such, but I also think you have to call and request the tapered barrel.

His 3lb trigger is the best we have used.

I probably have the perfect rifle for you. Mark Farr put it together for Bill Robinson. It is a one of. Briley barrel hunter weight, Kidd trigger, and Robertson/Farr stock. Very nice. I think Bill spent over 2K on it. I would sell for $900 as we don't shoot much smallbore silo around here anymore. Pick up only, north of Philadelphia, PA.

The Kidd trigger and stock alone are worth the $900. Someone should jump on this.
