For the record, Troy Lawton shot the perfect 40/40 in 1993 with a standard rifle and not a hunting rifle. I was shooting next to him n the same relay. Troy made two scope adjustments during the last five turkeys and hit the final turkey with a perfect center hit. We gave him the turkey and it stayed in the truck as long as Troy drove it. We purchased an insurance policy with the help of White Ford in Winnsboro. We have the score cards at the gun club in a frame signed by Troy and his spotter Robert Massey

I think I see what Tim Lee is saying. If silhouette had ginormous prize money there would be the traveling semi-pros coming to the well paying events and the middle of the pack shooters ( like me and most of my buds ) would know we would win nothing. Why not put that money into door prizes AND make the match a quality match for everyone. I enjoy watching shoot offs between the high masters, but they don't pay the bills...it's the lower classes that pay for the match through their entry fees.

Our CLA regional was attended by folks from as far away as Wyoming and they shot in single digits...but they came for the good time.

The recruitment of younger participants, especially young women, will give the silhouette sports a big boost. We have enough cranky old white guys .
